How it works:

Scars is either cut out and closed primarily or cut out and the scar pattern changed to a geometric pattern (W or Z). Such scar rearrangement repositions them along the natural lines and creases in the skin or turns a straight line into an irregular one. |

How it works:

The entire scarred area is completely cut out and replaced with a split- or full-thickness skin graft taken from normal skin.
This is not commonly done with the exception of burn scar surgery.
A skin graft NEVER looks as good as normal skin.
